Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Briefed. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms.
1. The service
Briefed is a personalized daily brief delivered by email. We generate your brief overnight based on the topics, entities and preferences you choose, and deliver it to the email address associated with your account. Briefed is email-only — there is no separate app required to receive your brief.
2. Accounts
To use the service you create an account through our authentication provider (Clerk). You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your credentials secure. You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction to use Briefed.
3. Subscriptions and billing
- Paid plans are billed through Stripe on a recurring basis until cancelled.
- Your subscription renews automatically for the same term unless you cancel before the renewal date.
- You can cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable.
- Prices and plan features may change; we will give notice of material changes.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the service in violation of any law or third-party rights.
- Resell, redistribute or republish brief content as a competing product without our written permission.
- Attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer, scrape at scale, or gain unauthorized access to the service or its infrastructure.
5. Not investment or professional advice
Briefed provides analysis and context, not investment, legal, tax or other professional advice. Nothing in your brief is a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any security or to take any specific action. Markets carry risk, content may be incomplete or contain errors, and you are solely responsible for your own decisions. Consult a licensed professional before acting on anything you read in Briefed.
6. Intellectual property
The Briefed service, its software, and its design are owned by us and protected by applicable laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service for your personal or internal business purposes, subject to these Terms.
7. Third-party services
We rely on third-party providers to operate Briefed, including Clerk (authentication), Neon (database hosting), Resend (email delivery) and Stripe (payments). Your use of the service may also be subject to those providers' terms.
8. Disclaimers
The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of content, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Briefed and its providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from your reliance on brief content. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
10. Termination
You may stop using the service and cancel at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or to protect the service and its users.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
